Happy New Year to you from Storenextdoor HQ!

Now that the excesses of Christmas and New Year are done and dusted we can get back to the business of spreading the Storenextdoor love. And we are not the only ones who are looking forward to a year of neighbourliness, moneysaving and doing things a little differently… the clever and insightful people at Nesta have predicted that the ‘sharing economy’ is going to be big news this year; as well as storage space, you could soon be sharing your bicycles, books, toys and baby clothes as it’s heading to be more hip than hippie in 2013!

If you are new to ‘collaborative consumption’ it has been defined as;

The reinvention of old market behaviours – renting, lending, swapping, bartering, gifting – through technology, taking place on a scale and in ways never possible before…

…and you can read a bit more about it here. And what better place to start than by renting out the spare space you don’t use in your house or business premises. We have Squirrels waiting in the wings so there’s never been a better time to take the plunge and try a new way of earning a bit of extra money.

Here at Storenextdoor HQ we are starting the year with a spring in our step as this month it’s all about our favourite city, Bristol! Look out for us in the local press and out and about with our leaflets. Plus we have a great prize lined up for local Badgers with a meal for two on offer at the fabulous Pony & Trap – details to be announced soon.
